| Oneida Lake is approxiamtely twenty-two miles long by can range from one to five miles wide. The lake is located northeast of Syracuse. It empties into the Oneida River which flows into the Oswego River then it empties into Lake Ontario. While not included as one of the Finger Lakes, it is sometimes referred to as the "thumb". Oneida Lake has the following species of fish landlocked atlantic salmon, walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, northern pike, chain pickerel, rock bass, crappie, sunfish, bullheads, channel catfish, lake sturgeon, carp, and alewives. |

Captain Tony is also a writer for Lake Ontario Outdoors, and is a 2005 Inductee to the New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame. Captain Tony Buffa operates a 28 foot Off Shore named My Gal Cal II on Oneida Lake and is docked at the Fremac Marina in Lakeport, NY. |

| Welcome to Empire Bass & Beyond! My name is Craig Nels, and I am a USCG Licensed Captain #1550403 and a NY State Licensed Guide #5142 When fishing with Empire Bass & Beyond you will be fishing aboard a 2009 Ranger Z520 powered by a Yamaha 250 Outboard. The electric motor is a MinnKota with 101lbs of thrust. The Sonar and GPS duties are taken care of by Lowrance and Humminbird electronics. We target largemouth bass smallmouth bass walleye and panfish on the following Central New York Waters: Oneida, Onondaga, Otisco, Seneca River, Skaneateles, and Chaumont Bay. |

As with any lake, there are particular spots that produce fish and outside of those hotspots, your chances of bringing home a limit is severely diminished. Lund for Bass, Walleye and inshore Browns and a 18 ft Drift Boat for tributary fishing including; Salmon River, Black River, and Oswego River. Captain Troy is a member of the Daiwa, Luhr Jensen, Mustad, Pro-Troll, Okuma, Gamma, and Dreamweaver pro-staffs. He has won several major derbies and guided his client, Kurt Killian, to the NY state record Chinook Salmon in 1991. Captain Troy is an active member of the NYS Fisheries Congress, Lake Ontario Salmon & Trout Association, Lake Ontario Sportfishing Stakeholders Coalition, NYS Outdoor Writers Association and a board of director of the National Marine Charter Association. He has served as president of the Oswego County River Guides Association and coordinator for the Oswego County Pro-Am Tournament and is editor of Lake Ontario Outdoors Magazine. |
